Menorah is referring to Christ the Light of the world (John 8:12) Zach 4:2-6 the lampstand refers to the Holy Spirit who is likened to oil burning from a seven branch lamp. Rev 4:5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thundering and voices. Seven lamps of fire are burning in front of the throne which are the seven Spirits of God. The lampstand was bearing the Holy Light of God, and expressing our relation to God. Just as it was important for the wicks to be trimmed in order to allow the oil to burn brightly, so the Lord sometimes seeks to trim or prune us in order that our light might shine more effectively. Matt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify Father in Heaven.
